Glock is an Austrian based gun manufacturer that is highly popular in the United States among law enforcement, the United States military and vast numbers of citizen sport shooters. Their Glock Sport Shooting Foundation Indoor League hosts hundreds of handgun tournaments across the country. Member shooters will travel from city to city and state to state to attend the three matches that make up one tournament. It is from these members that the votes are cast for the best range of the year. Palmetto Indoor Range owner, Edward Soto, has hosted Glock tournaments at his range since its opening 10 years ago. Many of the Glock sport shooting participants that shoot in the area were first members of his range. He encourages those who shoot at this range to buy a Glock and join the GSSF. According to Soto, “These tournaments are great for both men and women....... and age doesn’t matter! Besides being a great competitive event, these Glock matches are just plain fun!” Soto has a lifetime of experience with firearms and competitive shooting. His extensive credentials include; ATF Class I & III Firearms Dealer, NRA Certified Instructor (Pistol, Rifle), NRA Range Safety Officer, NSCA Shotgun Instructor, & SC Certified CWP Instructor. Palmetto Indoor Range has 10 bays for shooting anything from .22 handguns to machine guns. Besides being a family-oriented facility, it’s computer-driven, timed and turning target system has attracted local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to utilize Palmetto Indoor Range as their primary training center.
